Maurizio Barberio is an architect, Ph.D., postdoctoral researcher, and Knowledge Transfer Manager at Politecnico di Bari, where he also teaches Digital Design and Fabrication at the C.E.S.AR. Course of the Scuola di Specializzazione of the Politecnico di Bari. His research and professional activity concern the areas of architectural design, architectural didactics, digital design, and digital fabrication, with a specialization in the field of stone architecture. In this field is co-author of several built prototypes, projects and scientific contributions. He has exhibited at international fairs (Biennale di Venezia, Salone del Mobile, Marmomac) and lectured in international symposiums. He has recently published with Maggioli Editore the book "Architettura 4.0: fondamenti ed esperienze di ricerca progettuale". He is co-founder of the architecture firm Barberio Colella Architetti and partner and co-founder of the New Fundamentals Research Group.
Micaela Colella is a licensed architect and a Ph.D. in architectural design. Her research and professional activity focus on the use of 4.0 Industry principles for the definition of new design strategies for residential and civic architecture. Previously she taught Digital Design and Fabrication at the C.E.S.AR. Course of the Scuola di Specializzazione of the Politecnico di Bari. She has designed and built several experimental prototypes, won prizes, and received awards in international competitions, exhibited in sector fairs (Marmomac, Salone del Mobile), published contributions and scientific articles, and participated/lectured at international conferences. She has recently published with Maggioli Editore the book "Architettura 4.0: fondamenti ed esperienze di ricerca progettuale". She is co-founder of the architecture firm Barberio Colella Architetti and partner and co-founder of the New Fundamentals Research Group.
Angelo Figliola is an architect, Ph.D., Adjunct Professor at School of Architecture and Design of the Università di Camerino, where he teaches both in Architecture and Industrial Design courses (ICAR 12). During the Ph.D. he has been a visiting researcher at IAAC, University for Advanced Architecture of Catalunya, working on Robotic fabrication applied to wood structures. In 2013 he was awarded a post-graduate II level Masters in Housing from the Università di Roma Tre. His research and professional activity concern the area of architectural technology and environmental design with focus on the relationship between computational design, materials, and digital fabrication strategies. He has recently published with Springer the book "Post-Industrial Robotics". In 2020 he has been awarded with the Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale (Italian National Scientific Qualification) to become an Associate Professor of Technology of Architecture.
Alessandra Battisti is an architect, Full Professor of Environmental Design and Technology of Architecture at Sapienza University of Rome, where she was Head of the Master’s programs in “Landscape Architecture” (from 2016 to 2019) and Head of the Master’s programs in “Architecture-Urban Regeneration” (2019) and serves as the Director of the level-2 Master’s program in “Valorisation and Enhancement of Small Historical Centres” (2013 to the present). She is on the Faculty Board and teaching staff of the Ph.D. program in Planning Design Technology of Architecture (since 2013). Since 1993 she has been engaged in research, teaching, and experimentation on topics such as technological innovation for environmentally aware architecture, the ecological and energetic efficiency of buildings, the bioclimatic approach to design and urban regeneration. She has expertise, at the European level, in sustainable architecture, renewable energy in buildings.
