Ten years after the introduction of the concept of Industry 4.0
at the Hannover fair in 2011, the enabling technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution are gradually being implemented in various industrial sectors. Among these, the AEC sector has also begun to accept the challenges dictated by the 4.0 paradigm, continuing that path of hybridisation with other disciplinary fields and industrial sectors (aerospace, naval, automotive) that characterised the first digital era. The 4.0 challenge leads industry operators to introduce a series of new paradigms that affect the entire supply chain, from first-level training courses to the creation of innovative companies, passing through the design and construction of digital and performative architectures.
